Meet Sukhanpreet Dhanotta, Audit Partner.
As a first generation Canadian, Sukhanpreet understood the importance of working hard to earn success for herself early in her career. Sukhanpreet’s family recognized she was always money-savvy and financially astute, so when she decided to pursue her Chartered Professional Accounting designation, it was not much of a surprise.
Sukhanpreet started her career in 2009 at KPMG’s private company audit practice where she advanced to become a senior manager within the same group. At KPMG she led audit engagements for private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and public sector entities. She has built her knowledge and expertise through working at a “big-four” accounting firm, which aided her in developing an invaluable professional skillset.
Sukhanpreet is now the lead audit and assurance Partner at Grewal Guyatt LLP, where she combines her extensive experience and industry knowledge to provide her clients with exceptional service. Through her vibrant and friendly personality, Sukhanpreet instantly connects with her clients and colleagues. She is passionate about building trustworthy and long-term relationships which she achieves through listening attentively and ensuring timelines and reporting deadlines are always met. “SD”, as she is called for short, strives to build personal connections that go beyond the numbers. She is a truly a trusted advisor.
Throughout her career, Sukhanpreet has worked with clients across various industries including manufacturing and distribution, IT and software, service organizations, hospitals, and foundations. Sukhanpreet has advised on complex accounting transactions including amalgamations and reorganizations, business acquisitions, and first-time adoption of accounting standards. She has a strong technical understanding of various accounting frameworks including Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAB), and US GAAP.
When she’s not leading GG LLP’s audit practice, Sukhanpreet enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, and has been known to be quite the in-house photographer at family and firm events
